What is YIG? YIG (Yttrium Iron Garnet) is a synthetic Yttrium-Iron-Garnet having ferrimagnetic properties that is used especially as a filter for selecting or tuning microwaves. YIG and YIG Related Spheres and Crystalline Shapes are routinely used by manufactures of YIG-tuned devices such as: YIG-tuned Oscillators (YTOs), both Band-Pass and Band Reject Filters, Multipliers, Harmonic Generators, etc. These materials are also used in Faraday Rotators, Optical Isolators and Infrared Sensors.

Deltronic Crystal Industries, Inc. is please to announce the sale of our YIG SPHERE product line to Joseph M. Maida. Hence, Deltronic Crystal Ind. Inc., is no longer in the YIG SPHERE manufacturing business. This sale included all YIG SPHERE manufacturing equipment, various supplies and all YIG inventory, (i.e. raw crystals, WIP and finished products). It also included all of DCI, Inc manufacturing and sales procedures, notes and records.
Joe recently founded a new company, Ferrisphere, Inc. for the express intent of focusing on the YIG SPHERE manufacturing business. Joe has over 30 years of experience in the YIG SPHERE field, having managed that product line at Deltronic Crystal Industries, Inc., as well as developing it at the Airtron Division of Litton Industries.
